GUT AND PSYCHOLOGY SYNDROME

Research suggests that healing your gut may be the single most important thing you can do to improve your health.

Gut and Psychology Syndrome (or GAPS) is explained as a concept, which establishes a connection between the functions of the digestive system, the brain and the immune system. This protocol serves to heal the gut, help detoxify the body, provide beneficial bacteria and ensures deep nutrition in order to treat a wide range of conditions.

The GAPS protocol has been used by many people to treat adults and children with a range of conditions:

Autism spectrum disorders, ADD/ ADHD, schizophrenia, dyslexia, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder and other neurological and psychiatric problems.

Many of these conditions have no established diagnostic labels and present themselves as a mixture of various so-called mental symptoms: mood alterations, memory and cognitive problems, behavioural and social problems, panic attacks, anxiety, involuntary movements, various tics and fits, sensory problems, sleep problems, etc.

The healing capacity of the GAPS protocol was also found to have a profound effect on many other conditions:

multiple sclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis, diabetes type one, coeliac disease, osteoarthritis, lupus, Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, chronic cystitis, asthma, eczema, allergies, chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia, ME, irritable bowel syndrome.

The GAPS programme has 3 main elements:

  1. Diet
  2. Supplementation
  3. Detoxification

In our modern world where people are regularly taking antibiotics and other prescription drugs, eating processed food and living stressful lives,an increasing number of people have damaged their digestive systems. When the digestive system is unwell it becomes a source of toxicity in the body instead of being a source of nourishment: nothing in the body can function well.

In order to ensure success, ongoing support is advised. Changes can be made gradually, with the guidance of your therapist and private or group workshops are available to support you every step of the way.
